This class is for the beginner who is interested in learning about basic electronic components and how to build projects by means of electronic assembly and soldering.
Topics covered by this class include:
- Identification of electrical components,
- The proper way of installing electrical components onto a printed circuit board,
- Soldering iron safety,
- Soldering methods, including basic through-hole and point-to-point soldering,
- The differences between good and bad solder connections.
Project: Lux Spectralis Blinky LED Kit
Prerequisites: None
Equipment Access: Electronics area, soldering irons
Safety: Closed-toe shoes required
Class fee: $15
Once you successfully pass this class, you can use this equipment for your projects whenever you work at CBI Maker Space as a member!
