Welcome! This week all around the globe people are celebrating innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) launched in 2008 and has since grown to 150 countries with over 24,000 partner organizations planning over 34,000 activities that directly engage millions of participants during the week.
GEW is about unleashing ideas and doing what it takes to bring them to life- spotting opportunities, taking risks, solving problems, being creative, building connections and learning from both failure and success. It is about thinking big and making your mark on the world.
Those of us at the Cumberland Business Incubator (CBI) have been working toward GEW since the beginning of September. In September a group of entrepreneurs and business leaders ready to take their businesses to the next level or in a new direction and soon-to-launch entrepreneurs began meeting every Thursday night to flush out ideas and validate assumptions. This week all that effort culminates in a presentation – Pitch Night.
Pitch Night at the CBI is an event that all who register are welcome to attend (register 931-456-4910). You will hear the plans, be able to ask questions, provide feedback and support for each of the presenters. You may find a solution to a problem that you or someone you know has at Pitch Night!
