A big Thank You to everyone that attended or in some way participated in our Lunafest fundraiser. Nine short films that were already winners of the competition to be included in Lunafest competed again for their place in the local showings.
Based on the votes of our attendees, Flying Anne was by far the overall winner. A young girl with Tourette’s syndrome shares information on her life with tics in a classroom presentation.
Coming in second place was Date with Fate. A dating service matches up two divorcees who just happen to have been married to each other for decades. Some things are just meant to be.
In third place was Sidewalk. Clever cartooning walked through a lifetime of body changes on a single sidewalk.
Tied for 4th place were Granny’s Got Game and First Match. The Grannies are the 70-plus year old basketball players that share more than the love of the game. First Match invited us to a girl’s first coed high school wrestling match and her relationship with her wrestling star father.
Tied for 5th place were Running Dry and Tiny Miny Magic. Running Dry is a day in the life of a woman in Athens in economic hardship. Tiny Miny Magic is a story of a relationship with someone we count on, the mailman, through a mailbox.
In 6th place was Sound Shadows, introducing the idea that those that do not see make much more use of the sounds they hear than most of us do.
In final place was Maria of Many, the story of an immigrant mother and her goals of a better world for her daughter.

A new film competition will be taking place soon with the winners to be included in the 2014/2015 Lunafest collection. Our guests asked to bring the next Lunafest to Crossville and make this an annual event. We look forward to seeing you at the 2014/2015 showings!
