Paul Falk worked for nearly 40 years with GE. He worked with the fabrication, design and packaging of high reliability electronics primarily for bio-medical and spacecraft applications. Most notable projects that Paul worked on include participation on spacecraft teams that were first to land on an asteroid, the first to orbit Mercury and a flyby of Pluto. If you saw the photos sent back to earth from Pluto, Paul played a part in developing the equipment!
Paul is a Make Camp volunteer as well as a Maker Space volunteer. Paul’s expertise is in the 2D and 3D design software, laser engraving and 3D printing although he also enjoys helping members with their vinyl cutter projects and the CNC controlled woodworking equipment.
Paul also volunteers with the Crossville Model Railroad Club and helps staff their location in the Crossville Mall.
When asked what he would like the community to know about the Maker Space Paul commented:
“The Maker Space provides an environment for volunteers and members to share their experience and knowledge with those with common interests. As a volunteer, it’s been my privilege to be involved in the beginning of the Maker Space at the CBI. I look forward to the day we need to look for larger quarters.” Paul is typically the Wednesday afternoon volunteer in the Maker Space from 1pm – 4pm. When you see Paul be sure to ask him about his outer space work and thank him for his volunteer service in the Maker Space!
